Ruby’s own art-making spans across a playful mix, exploring the textures of collage, to the fluidity of watercolour. Ruby delights in the tactile, intuitive process of creating. She is always open to learning new skills to encourage her growing artistic practice.

Driven by a passion for social justice, Ruby envisions a world where care is collective, and healing is accessible to everyone. She brings heart, curiosity, and courage to her work. She invites you to share in her journey, and hopes to create a warm, inclusive and sacred space for those she walks alongside.

Philosophy
I believe creative expression has the capacity to transform, offering a compassionate and healing space for those whose lives have been shaped by trauma. Grounded in empathy, cultural humility, and respect for each person’s unique journey, the therapeutic process honours the courage it takes to engage with vulnerability through creativity. My own art practice is rooted in tactile and intuitive methods of making, such as collage and watercolour, which nurtures a playful, exploratory process and inspires resilience, connection, and the discovery of inner wisdom.

Therapeutic Approach
My practice integrates trauma-informed and relational principles with Sensorimotor and expressive arts techniques, offering a responsive and attuned approach to each client’s needs. I view creative expression as a non-verbal language that can safely bring forward complex emotions, memories, and bodily experiences, fostering deeper self-awareness and healing. Guided by a commitment to cultural sensitivity and social justice, I strive to create inclusive, safe, and supportive spaces where individuals and families feel valued, empowered, and understood throughout their healing journey.

Professional Background
I am a qualified social worker with over six years’ experience across community, health, and family violence settings, including extensive work alongside children, young people, and Aboriginal communities. My professional practice encompasses psychosocial assessment, crisis intervention, therapeutic case management, and community advocacy, all guided by trauma-informed principles.

Currently in the final year of a Master of Art Therapy at La Trobe University (2025–26), I am developing advanced skills to integrate art therapy within trauma-informed and body-based frameworks.

My previous roles have included providing intensive therapeutic support for children and families affected by family violence, case management for young people in out-of-home care, and social work in both hospital and rural health contexts. These experiences have deepened my understanding of complex trauma, resilience, and the importance of culturally safe, empathetic care.
